What "covered" actually means in an FCA visit

The evidence side of coverage matters as much as the training side. For every completion, CoreCompliance records:

Sector-specific training for non-regulated industries.

Construction certifications, hospitality-specific licensing, retail-sector compliance. Skillcast.com covers some of this in its wider libraries. CoreCompliance does not.

Bespoke course building.

If you need a course written from scratch for your proprietary process or product, that is a Skillcast Portal capability, not a CoreCompliance one.

Custom branding of the learner interface.

CoreCompliance is white-label free. Firms that need their own branding on the learner experience should move to Skillcast Portal.

Non-UK regulatory content.

CoreCompliance is built around UK regulation, primarily FCA. Firms with meaningful EU or global regulatory obligations need Skillcast's Global Compliance library.

How many courses does CoreCompliance include?

Over 150 CPD-accredited courses, curated for UK regulated firms under 50 staff. Skillcast has a wider 400+ course library available through Skillcast Portal for firms with broader needs.

Are the courses the same as Skillcast Portal's?

The core content library is shared. The difference is packaging: CoreCompliance is a self-service subscription with a curated set for small regulated firms. Skillcast Portal is a fully-managed enterprise product with bespoke customisation, integrations, and larger libraries.

How long does compliance training take per person per year?

For a client-facing role at a small IFA, typically 4 to 6 hours per year across all mandatory topics. For administrative staff, closer to 3 to 4 hours. This is spread across the year, not delivered in one session.

What if a new regulation comes in during my subscription?

If the regulation applies to firms in your sector and CoreCompliance covers it, the course is added to your subscription at no additional cost. If it applies to a niche outside CoreCompliance's remit, you will be told.

Can I customise the courses for my firm?

Not in CoreCompliance. Courses are delivered as-published, updated centrally. Firms that need custom-branded or custom-scripted courses should look at Skillcast Portal instead. This is a deliberate simplification, and it is what keeps CoreCompliance fast and inexpensive.

Are the courses CPD-accredited?

Yes. Every course in the library that qualifies for accreditation is CPD-certified. Certificates are generated automatically on completion.

Do you cover training for appointed representatives?

Yes. Add ARs as users on the platform and they receive the same coverage and evidence trail as directly-employed staff.
